Archer, Frederick Scott
(1813 - 1857) Englischer Bildhauer, Fotograf und Erfinder. Mit der Kollodium-Naßplatte, die er 1851 beschrieb, erfand er die erste praktisch brauchbare Fotoplatte aus Glas. Seine Erfindung fand trotz der recht umständlichen Handhabung schnelle Verbreitung. 1852 stellte er das daraus entwickelte Kollodium-Positiv-Verfahren vor, bei dem ein unterbelichtetes Glasnegativ mit einem schwarzen Hintergrund versehen wurde, um einen positiven Bildeindruck zu erzeugen.
